Two remanded for alleged murder

Two persons, Olaiya Tunde, 21, and Akinnuoye Festus24, have been remanded in a Correctional Centre by an Oke-Igbo Magistrate Court for allegedly killing one Pius Dada Omoniyi.

The accused persons were said to have killed the deceased in a bush after which they severed his head, removed his two arms and two feet.

They were arraigned on two counts of murder and conspiracy, which contravene Sections 316 and punishable under section 516 and 319(1) of the criminal code, cap 37,Vol. 1, laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.

Police prosecutor, Abdul Lateef Sule, informed the court the accused committed the offence on August 14, 2020 at Awo road, Oke-Igbo area.

Sule requested the court to order the case file transferred to the Director of Public Prosecution, (DPP) for legal advice.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Oyedele Awe, ordered that the case file tranferred to the DPP and adjourned the case to April 30, 2021 for mentioning.
