‘I’m contesting election not to spoil Soludo’s chance’

By Nwanosike Onu, Awka

One of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Nonso Okafor, has said he’s contesting election and not to spoil anybody’s chance.

Okafor, representing Nnewi North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, told reporters on Sunday in Awka that such notion from the opposition was wrong and demeaning.

He said he was not afraid of anyone contesting the APGA ticket with him, adding that as a lawmaker, he was more experienced than other contestants.

The 40-year-old governorship aspirant said people should not bring Governor Willie Obiano into the picture, adding that the governor had not endorsed anyone for the position as being speculated.

Okafor said he could only respect names like the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof Chukwuma Soludo, for their accomplishments, but not to fear them.
