The former presidential aspirant and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, Osifo Stanley has commiserated with the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, on the unfortunate and tragic death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and ten top gallant officers of the Armed Forces on Friday.

In a statement made available to The Nation in Lagos yesterday, the former presidential hopeful stated that the men gave their best in service for the country particularly in the fight against insecurity and the threats from different terror and criminal elements.

Osifo described the death of the officers as unfortunate national disaster at a time when their wealth of experience is most needed.

He prayed for the repose of departed souls and God grant their families and everyone affected by the tragic occurrence the fortitude to bear the loss at this period of grief.
