The police in Akwa Ibom have arrested a man said to be a soldier for allegedly killing a businessman in Ikot Abasi Local government area of the state.
The suspect reportedly killed the man who gave him a ride on Sunday and took away his vehicle.
A source in Ikot Abasi council area told our correspondent yesterday that the suspected military man was tracked and arrested at Ukanafun council area, and the vehicle including a rifle recovered from him.
“A motorist offered a serving army officer a ride in his vehicle, not knowing that he was going to kill him. They got to a place, the army officer flattened his vehicle, attacked him and killed him and after killing him, dumped his body by the way side,” the source said.
Police spokesman Odiko Macdon said the matter is under investigation, adding that the police is still trying to confirm the Identity of the person involved.
