Two suspected armed robbers were shot dead by security operatives in Delta state, Tuesday evening.
The deceased who were operating in a tricycle were gunned down at about 8:30pm near 316 Express, Ekete in Udu Council area.
Sources claim the duo were trying to rob a car owner when people noticed the suspicious movement and alerted operatives.
“Civil defense killed two omila (robbers) and recovered two locally made guns near 316 express. They were using Keke to operate,” a source disclosed.

Confirming the incident, acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe said it was a combined effort of the Police, vigilante and civil defense operatives.
“Yes, it is a combined team of police, vigilante and civil defense. Two were gunned down,” he said.
In a related development, a suspected armed robber was caught by residents of Orhuwhorun community, the same council area, after robbing a lady of her phone, Wednesday morning.
The suspect, said to have left his Kokori base in Ethiope East LGA for Orhuwhorun, reportedly specialises in robbing boutiques and PoS shops.
The victim was said to have raised alarm after the suspect took off with her handset.
He was reportedly caught by residents who handed him over to security operatives, after heavy beatings.
