Three suspected kidnappers have been killed by vigilantes in Kogi.

The suspects were said to have terrorised Niger and Kogi communities especially in the Ottoyi Forest.

The suspects were reportedly killed on Wednesday in a shootout with local vigilantes, it was gathered.

One of the gang members was accosted as he came to buy foodstuff, it was learnt.

Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Muhammed Onogwu, said security personnel in the state have “continued to stand the test of time and recorded successes against criminal elements”.

Onogwu attributed the success to synergy between the security operatives and community residents.
