“Kogi has witnessed sterling and steady progress because the youth have been the key drivers of our state.
“However, we need a structure that will institutionalize Youth Development in the state, a structure that will outlive the present administration, hence the need for a full-fledged commission,” Fanwo said.
“The Youth Development Commission will not only serve as a hatchery for the innovative development initiatives of the administration, it will help to accommodate the dreams of our youth to play important roles in the development of our dear state.
“We cannot afford to toy with the future of our youth. If we want a peaceful and prosperous nation, our youth must be respected, nurtured and given the opportunity to inject their dynamism in governance.
“The Kogi State Governor has spoken in unmistakable terms, his readiness to build the state around the youth. That is what the nation also need at this moment and I want to say we are ready to give this model to as many states that would want to replicate what Kogi has pioneered”.
The governor appointed Lawal Ozomata James as the Chairman of the commission.
