Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has appointed Professor Ige Olugbenga as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, (AAUA)
A statement by Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, said the appointment will take effect from Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 for a one-term of five years.
The statement said the appointment by the Governor was in line with the exercise of his power under Paragraph 3 (8) of Schedule 1 of Adekunle Ajasin University Law.

Akeredolu assured the University community of his administration’s commitment to prioritizing home-grown eggheads for effective management of the institution and urged the new VC to work assiduously for the development of the institution.
Prof. Ige was Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution until his appointment was rectified.
