It is quite clear that filling the vacuum left by the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, who died last year will be hard. The late politician was a popular figure in Oyo and Nigeria at large even after he left office.
It goes without saying that the closest person to Senator Ajimobi is his wife, Florence. And there are suggestions she may decide to continue her husband’s legacies.
The talk may have been fueled by the massive support she got from her late husband’s loyalists and friends during Ajimobi’s one-year remembrance/memorial Fidau prayer.
After the prayer at the deceased Ibadan, Oluyole residence, guests were treated to a special reception at the International Conference Centre (ICC), University of Ibadan. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and other governors as well as their wives attended.

Although the former First Lady of Oyo State has not made any official statement about her political ambition, she enjoys similar respect and attention her husband had while he was alive.
It was learnt that she played a major role in the legal battle between local government chairmen installed by her husband and the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde.
People who are close to her believe she can easily wear her late husband’s shoes and continue the legacy, as she must have learnt a lot from him.
Born in Benin City on April 5, 1959, Mrs. Ajimobi spent her early childhood in Ibadan. She attended Bodija International School before she proceeded to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Ibadan. She studied Secretarial Studies and Management at Ibadan Polytechnic.
