Eko Akete (Mainland) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited has commissioned for use its blocks of flats located along Governor Road, Ikotun, Lagos.
Speaking at the unveiling, president of the society, Lateef Olubodun Oloto, said it was a monumental occasion and thanked all members who made it possible, including President of Lagos State Cooperative Federation, Oladipo Olanrewaju Shobule and Oluwole Ogunlolu, who started the project during their tenures, the Emeritus leader, Anthony Agbodji and the body of elders.
Stating that the estate is wholly financed with internal resources of the cooperative, Oloto said the estate’s location on Governor Road, one of the commercial nerve centres of Ikotun, makes it attractive and a choice property in the real estate sector.

He said the management named the estate, Oluwole Ogunlolu Housing Estate in honour of a past president of the society for his immense contributions .
Commissioner for Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives, Lola Akande lauded the society on the accomplishment, “particularly at a time when someone during the last co-operative celebration erroneously said most societies were moribund.”
She said the Lagos State government “ has facilitated series of programmes aimed at encouraging more people to imbibe the spirit of co-operation and be active participants in both formal and informal sectors of the economy.”
Eko Akete (Mainland) Co-operative Multipurpose Society Limited comprises members from across the 20/37 Lagos State LGAs/LCDAs.
