Nine years after, Oyetola presents staff of office to Iloko-Ijesha monarch

After nine years of kingship tussle of Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesha, the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola yesterday presented staff of office to newly installed monarch of the community, Oba Akeem Ogungbangbe.

Oyetola was accompanied by the former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, former deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Speaker House of Assembly, Hon Timothy Owoeye, APC caretaker chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, Professor Olu Aina and other state functionaries.

Other dignitaries are; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Owa Obokun of Ijesha land, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Absulrosheed Akanbi, Senator Francis Fadahunsi amongst others.

While Governor Oyetola was presenting staff of office and instrument of appointment to Oba Ogungbangbe, he appealed to the new monarch to cooperate with all the traditional rulers in Ijesaland and the State.

“As the eyes and ears of government in your various domains, I urge our Royal Fathers to convey and explain the activities and programmes of government to the people and to embark on activities that would promote and sustain the current peace and harmony which reign in all the nooks and crannies of this state.

“Our Administration is committed to ensuring peace and welfare for the people and providing equitable and quality infrastructure, good health and education for the overall development of the people. Ijesaland, including loko-Ijesa, has to enjoyed some of these facilities. We shall not relent in extending more of these gestures Iloko -Ijesa and Ijesaland.”

Earlier, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Owa Obokun, Oba Aromolaran prayed for longevity for the newly installed monarch.
