Alexandro Pedro Guerrero better known as Hightone or Tone, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, musician & executive producer.

He is one of the few executive producers and multi-instrumentalists left in this highly ‘saturated music industry’.

In an interview, he said that “there is too much negativity and unhealthy competition in the music and entertainment industry.” This wide spread envy and hatred, he stated, is having an adverse effect on the progress and success of the industry.

Hightone who also spoke about his music, career and the industry in general said, “It is becoming increasingly hard making music as an artist or entertainer”.

“Artists no longer want to collaborate with each other even when they accept collaborations sometimes they make it a hard and stressful process.

“Some artists feel that everyone who isn’t in their camp is a rival or the competition instead of seeing each other as colleagues or even friends.

“Social media has changed the landscape of the industry, it makes it easier for artists and creatives to reach their fans but the dark side of it is that, every little thing gets blown out of proportion.

“Sometimes it’s a positive thing but most times it breeds negativity, envy and unhealthy competition amongst artists” Alex said.

“It has been somewhat difficult adjusting for some of us who aren’t used to social media but have to contend with it because it’s the place to get new fans and for millennials too” he noted.

He opined that it can be frustrating sometimes, but in music just like in life one has to be willing to evolve to keep going and be successful.

“Music is like every other business; you reap what you sow or invest and so as an artist you have to always invest your efforts and resources into things you are passionate about” Guerrero said.

Tone believes consistency is a major key to success and says that’s why he is focused on releasing his first ever body of work soon and making sure that this year as a whole he puts out more projects to build his catalogue. “I am already putting out more album with all the artists I am have been working with since the pandemic, so people can hear/listen to the music we have been making” he continued.

Alex ‘Hightone’ Guerrero is a music producer and multi-instrumentalists from Stockton, California.

He most recently co-produced “I GOTCHU”, the first single of the year from platinum R&B recording artist Adrian Marcel.
