Gunmen on Tuesday reportedly snatched N100m belonging to Nasarawa Government at gunpoint.
The incident took place at the premises of Nasarawa Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning, Lafia, adjacent to the Accountant General’s Office.
An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, told The Nation the gunmen trailed officials of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning from a commercial bank in Lafia where they withdrew the cash to pay casual workers.

“But it was in the ministry’s premises the gunmen snatched the N100 million from the ministry’s officials while trying to dislodge the cash from the vehicle conveying it to the cash room,” the eyewitness narrated.
Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Haruna Ogbole, confirmed the incident to The Nation on phone.
He said investigations were on going but declined to disclose the amount snatched away.
