Ex-woman commissioner emerges as running mate

One of the governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, has picked Lady Azuka Enemuo as his running mate.

The woman was the commissioner for Local Government during the tenure of former governor Peter Obi.

Ozigbo, who introduced Enemuo to the stakeholders yesterday, said he picked her to tap from her experience.

Ozigbo, a Catholic, picked Enemuo, an Anglican and a great mobiliser, during the reconciliation meeting with stakeholders of the party, at Oma Event Centre, Awka.

Although many leaders of the party did not attend the meeting, ex-governor Obi and Sen. Ben Ndi Obi were present.

Enemuo did not speak much. She thanked Ozigbo and the party leaders for finding her worthy for such an exalted position, saying: “I will never disappoint you and our party.”
