Ondo seals off three houses for not having toilets

Officials of the Ondo State Government has sealed off three houses at Oke-Ogba,  Akure, over environmental offences.

Occupants were allowed to take a few belongings before the houses were shut.

The General Manager of the Ondo State Waste Management Authority, Mrs. Ayo Adeyemo, ordered the sealing off during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

She said owners and occupants of the buildings violated the state’s environmental laws.

She listed the offences to include not having toilets in the houses, not having kitchen, living in an uncompleted buildings, which is dangerous for inhabitants, bushy environment and absence of other necessary facilities.

Adeyemo said the state government would not hesitate to clamp down on environmental violators.

“As it is now, the houses have been sealed off and nobody should enter them.”
