FC Barcelona have officially announced that Lionel Messi will not be continuing at the Catalan club. However as one side struggles to cope with the reality, the offices in Paris begin to burn the midnight oil.
According to Mundo Deportivo, PSG are now in pole position to sign Lionel Messi. The sudden news has alerted the Parisian club, and the side are optimistic about the operation.
Nasser Al Khelaifi is confident that the money is not an issue. The French side can afford to sign the Argentine and handle his wages. That said, his focus is on convincing the six time Ballon d’Or winner of the project.
To sign Lionel Messi has been one of Paris Saint Germain’s biggest dreams for a long time. Though their interest in the player has been no secret, the fire in the reports died down in recent months as a renewal neared.
Now, however, the story starts again and it seems more likely than ever. With Messi officially not continuing at Barcelona, very few clubs can afford his signing, of which the French side are one.
From Messi’s perspective, the move would not be one way to resist. With Neymar, Paredes, and Angel di Maria amongst others, the Argentine will have good company in the French capital.
