Kebbi Governor Abubakar Bagudu has declared Monday, August 9, 2021, which is equivalent to 1st Muharram, 1443 AH as a public holiday.
This was contained in a statement by the Acting Head of Service, Sufyanu Garba Bena in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the gesture is to enable Muslim Ummah in the State to join other faithful across the world to mark the commencement of the 1st Islamic calendar Year. (Muharram).
Bagudu urged the people not to relent in praying for peace, unity and security in the state and the Nation in general.
