Abductors demand N500m ransom for Niger Commissioner

Abductors of Niger Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Idris have demanded N500 million ransom for his release.

He was abducted on Monday around 1am at his hometown in Tafa local government area.

The Commissioner is said to always frequent his hometown to visit his farm and family.

He was said to have been abducted in his house in Baban Tunga.

A State security meeting presided by Deputy Governor Ahmed Ketso has been on since morning.

A source confided in The Nation the kidnappers have reached out to demand N500 million for release of the Commissioner.
