Former presidential spokesman Dr. Doyin Okupe has reiterated the need for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to field a southern candidate for the next presidential election.

He said in a statement that it is needful for stakeholders to sort out issues in the party.

Okupe said PDP should use the coming rescheduled national congress “to put to rest these issues.”

He said for the sake of fairness and equity, it is necessary that the PDP should support a southerner in 2023.
