Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos has begun summer coaching for over 600 students in the council.
The Council Chairman, Razaq Ibrahim, said the gesture was aimed at preparing the students for a greater future.
While addressing the pupils yesterday, Ibrahim urged them to take what they are taught seriously and shun bad influences.

“God has prepared us to guide our younger ones to the right path; we need to sensitise on how to be successful in life. This is the time we have to correct them so that we can live in peace. The foundation we are laying will make our works easier,” he said.
He advised the students to pay attention to their studies; shun criminal activities and drugs abuse.
The council’s Head of Education and Library Services, Mrs Afolake Olanrewaju, said the exercise will run for four weeks.
“We projected for 400 participants, but now we have over 600. The council has made provision for feeding and writing materials. We have also mobilised the teachers to ensure the participants get the best of training,” she said.
