Bello mourns ex-CCA president Justice Bello

Kogi State Governor has mourned the death of former President of the Customary Court of Appeal Abuja, Justice Moses Bello (rtd) who died at the age of 68 during a brief illness.

Governor Bello, whose message was signed on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammed Onogwu described the late Bello as a good ambassador of the state and a man who served humanity in his lifetime.

He noted that his demise was a great loss not just to the Ebira land and Kogi State but also to Nigeria because the legal luminary brought great repute to the country while in active service in the legal profession and heading the CCA for a historic 25 years.

He noted that the late Justice Bello’s legacies would always be remembered and his track records made reference to.

Governor Bello extended his condolences to the family of the deceased as well as associates while he prayed to God to grant those hurt the fortitude to bear the loss.  In another development, the Kogi State Government yesterday gave proprietors of unregistered private schools in the state up to September 7 to register.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Wemi Jones, disclosed this while presenting a paper at the Graduation and Prize-giving Day of the BridgeHead International Academy, Felele, Lokoja.

Jones said: “The issue of sub-standard and mushroom schools is putting the future of the young ones at risk and it will not be tolerated.

“The Ministry has given those schools that are yet to register up to September 7 to get their schools registered.

“All those who fail to register their schools will be categorised as illegal schools and such schools will be closed and the owners shall be sanctioned.”
