A policeman, Awana Jacob, has reportedly shot a man dead at a burial ceremony in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
The deceased identified as Emmanuel Dickson was killed on Sunday as policemen invaded the mourning party.
The policeman reportedly claimed it was accidental discharge but the locals said Dickson was killed in cold blood.
It was gathered that the deceased was shot dead while trying to jump over a fence to escape from the invading policemen.

Why the policemen stormed the mourning gathering was not clear.
A community leader, Elder Samuel Etukudoh condemned the killing and called for justice.
He said a police team invaded the venue of the burial ceremony, causing the mourners to scamper for safety.
He said, “The police barged into the compound and people started running. The boy in question tried to jump over the fence and the police shot him dead but the policeman is trying to tell us is that it was accidental discharge.
Police spokesman Odiko Macdon said information on the incident was still sketchy.
