COMMANDER, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali has pledged implementation of the recommendations of the 36-man committee he recently constituted to work out modalities to proffer solutions towards achieving lasting peace on the Plateau and environs.

He stated this while receiving the reports, submitted by the peace committee at the OPSH headquarters in Jos.

The commander noted that the idea to have the committee was part of its non-kinetic approach towards achieving peace and peaceful coexistence in Plateau State.

Ali, who explained that lasting peace can be achieved through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), added that the initiative was aimed at a more virile society.

The commander stated that the report will assist OPSH, the state government and other security agencies in achieving the desired peace.

He promised to carefully study the recommendations made by committee, with a view of implementing them for the overall interest of all.

Presenting the report, Mr Robert Ashi, chairman of the special committee, thanked the commander for the opportunity granted them to serve.

He explained that the committee, which consists of diverse people, brainstormed, engaged critical stakeholders and came up with a 94-page report.
