The Serie A governing body, Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A ( National Professionals League Serie A) otherwise known as LNPA or Lega Serie A, have opened further investigation into alleged racist chant aimed specifically at Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in Sunday’s goalless draw away to Roma.
In a far-reaching punishment after Serie A matches at the weekend, the Lega Serie A according to an Italian news outlet has handed a rash of suspension to the coaching quartet of Jose Mourinho, Luciano Spalletti, Simone Inzaghi and Gian Piero Gasperini after their red cards, while Roma face punishment for racist chants.
Football Italia reports that coaches were all sent off for dissent during the past weekend’s Serie A matches.
“Roma boss Mourinho, Inter coach Inzaghi and Atalanta’s Gasperini were all dismissed during their games, while Spalletti saw red after the final whistle of Napoli’s 0-0 draw away to Roma,” the report noted.

“Spalletti (Napoli coach) insisted his applause towards the referee was meant as a compliment rather than sarcastically, but his explanation was not accepted by the disciplinary commission.
“In fact, Spalletti and Gasperini were both also fined €5,000 for their outbursts.
“They will all be suspended for the midweek Serie A Week 10 fixtures.
“Roma were fined €10,000 for their fans making ‘territorial discrimination’ chants against the city of Naples.”
The tabloid added: “Further investigation has been opened into another racist chant aimed specifically at Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.”
On Sunday, Osimhen’s Napoli were chasing their eight successive Serie A win but were halted by Mourinho’s men in a match the Nigerian international was reportedly denied by the post.
Osimhen has netted five goals from eight games in Serie A alone.
