The Advisory Board for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Science Prize, Prof. Alfred Akpoveta Susu, has said there is no winner for this 2020/2021 edition of the prize.
The announcement was made at a virtual handover ceremony yesterday.
The board’s chairman, whose speech was read by a former Minister of Industry, Chief Nike Akande, said none of the 49 entries received by the judges met the criteria to be declared winner for the prize.

Susu expressed disappointment that the country did not produce a winner.
NLNG’s General Manager for External Relations and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Eyono Fatayi-Williams, said seeking solutions to Nigeria’s problems and development issues were the reason the Nigeria Prize for Science was set up in line with NLNG’s vision of helping to build a better country.
The judges’ panel included Prof. Patrick Obi Ngoddy (a professor of Food Engineering and Processing), Prof. Yusuf Abubakar and Professor Oyebiodun Longe.
