Raymond Dokpesi, wife in action

MONDAY, October 25, 2021, was the day the Chairman of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, turned 70 and he celebrated it in style.

Top personalities, including ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Yemi Adenuga, Dele Momodu, Hon Awwal Bamanga-Tukur, Prince Kassim Afegbua, and Chief Mike Ozekhome graced the birthday dinner held in Abuja.

While King Sunny Ade was performing live, Dokpesi and his wife, Moji, thrilled the guests. After dancing alone for a while, the politician literally dragged his wife to the stage and they had what looked like a dance competition. They both showed different moves but it was obvious that Moji was a better dancer on the night even though Dokpesi made an effort to outshine her. Covered in his sweat, the celebrant was cheerful and danced all night.

Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, in 1951, Dokpesi is a Nigerian media entrepreneur. He founded Africa Independent Television (AIT). He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Edo State and completed his studies at the University of Gdansk, Poland, where he earned a doctorate in Marine Engineering.

Dokpesi started as a personal assistant to Alhaji Bamaga Tukur at the Nigerian Ports Authority. Dokpesi also served as a civil servant in the Federal Ministry of Transport under Alhaji Umaru Dikko and General Garba Wushishi. a
