Popular OAP and media consultant, Esther Adekeye could not keep her calm, as she gushes over her industry milestones.
In a live session with her fans and colleagues on her Instagram page, @cutekimani, Adekeye recalls her humble beginnings, saying she has come a long way.
Indisputably, Nigeria’s new media space has enjoyed massive growth over the last two decades, with several remarkable achievements, garnering national and international recognition. A plethora of notable new media firms have been established across the country and one of these firms that has continued to attract positive commendation is Estol Africa, founded by Adekeye in 2013.
Adekeye began her career in media as a pioneer On-Air-Personality with Unilag FM, a campus radio station of the University of Lagos in 2005, while still an undergraduate at the same university.
She continued to work with the station intermittently until 2017, racking up landmark interviews with the likes of D’Banj and Don Jazzy to mention a few. In 2010, she relocated to Port-Harcourt, after graduating from the University of Lagos with a degree in Mass Communication, where she worked with Cool FM Port-Harcourt from 2010 to 2011, before returning to Lagos to work with Real Radio from 2012 to 2013.
Adekeye, also known as Cutekimani, had a chance encounter with comedian Koffi, who asked her to manage his new artiste and later on fast-rising (at the time) indigenous rapper, Olamide, enlisted her to manage his branding and publicity, thus began her sojourn into the world of entertainment, image marketing and media management. She eventually founded Estol Africa, a one-stop media management firm, involved in influencer marketing, social media management, artiste management, media buying, A&R and various forms of online activations.
Since the establishment of Estol Africa, Adekeye has handled portfolios for some of Africa’s leading multinationals, as well as international personalities, such as Airtel, Kenya Airways, MTN, Huawei, MTV Base, Google, Lafarge, Olamide, Harrysong, Fireboy DML, Cheque, Chorus, Bimbo Ademoye, and Chy Nwakanma.
Her achievements haven’t gone unnoticed as she has received several awards and nominations, including the award for Digital brand Influencer of the Year at the 2017 Maya Awards, as well as the PR Agency of the Year Awards at the Africa Choice Awards and Scream Awards, both in 2020.
