The Katsina State Government has advised hotel owners associations in the state as well as other licenced operators to support the ongoing state government onslaught against banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mukhtar Gidado Abdulkadir, who gave the advice while receiving the executive members of the hotel owners’ association in his office, acknowledged the prominent security role they played, especially by assisting the security operatives to fish out criminal elements that usually hide in certain places before carrying out their evil acts.
Abdukadir further urged them to always remain watchful and security conscious to alert security personnel about any suspected people or movement for adequate measures to be taken.
He said: “Government would partner with your association to boost the internally generated revenue.”
The Chairman of the group, Abubakar Mohammed Ujudud, told the Commissioner they were at the ministry for familiarisation and to inaugurate their new officers that are expected to oversee the affairs of the group.
He said: ”The group, with over 30 members has invested over N10 billion in the economy of the state and will always come closer to matters that concern the government.
