Anambra poll: Police denies alleged soldiers’ killing in Ihiala

Police in Anambra State said nobody was killed during the ongoing governorship supplementary Election in Ihiala Local Government Area.

Some soldiers patrolling around the distribution/Collation Centre at the Council Area Headquarters were said to have allegedly shot dead a yet-to-be-identified man.

Those who spoke to The Nation at the local government headquarters also said they were unaware of the incident.

When contacted on the telephone, Public Relations Officer, Zone 13 Police Headquarters, Nkeiru Nwode, said the report was untrue.

“We don’t have such report and I don’t think something like that happened,” she said.
