The National President of the Private Education Developers’ Association of Nigeria (PEDAN), Mr. Festus Awodoyin, has said the association is partnering with the government to develop education.
Awodoyin, who spoke in Oshodi, Lagos Mainland, at the 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Special Lecture of PEDAN with the theme: ‘Education Survival Crisis During and After COVID-19 Pandemic: Analysis of Threatening Factors’, said PEDAN was committed to assisting the government to develop the education sector.
He said having been re-elected for a second term to lead the association for another three years; he would work with the executive members to establish PEDAN in Ekiti, Oyo, Osun and other states.
“We are now on ground in Lagos, Kwara, Ogun and Ondo states. But we intend to spread to other states to partner the government to develop the education sector.
“Government alone cannot provide education for the citizens. It needs the assistance of the private sector. This is why I am imploring the government to give our members interest-free loans to enable us to play our part in boosting the education sector,” Awodoyin said.
The Director, Public-Private Partnerships, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mr. Adebayo Adeyemi, who was the guest speaker at the event, hailed PEDAN for assisting the government to provide education for the masses.
