Court jails Ondo accountant for N7m theft

A High Court has sentenced an Ondo State civil servant, Aminu Kamilu, to seven years imprisonment with hard labour.

Kamilu is an accountant attached to the Ondo State Hospital Management Board but he was said to have stolen the money in 2017 while working with the General Hospital, Ikare.

Justice William Olamide convicted Kamilu but acquitted the second defendant, Azeez Musa, saying the convict singlehandedly committed the offence.

He ordered the state government to restore other civil servants indicted in connection with the theft to their positions.
