Soldiers attached to the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army have arrested 150 armed political thugs heading to Ekiti State for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary.

The suspected political thugs were arrested at Ita Awure/Efon Junction in Efon Alaaye in Ekiti State.

It was gathered that they have been transferred to Akure for interrogation.

Sources said they were arrested around 3 am on Wednesday.

It was also gathered that the soldiers would take the suspects to Owens Barracks in Akure for further investigation.

The spokesman for the 32 Artillery Brigade, Captain Akin Omojokun, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.
