Lagos upgrades resident card

The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has announced that the new Lagos State Resident Identity Card (LAG ID) has been upgraded with additional features and functions that enable the cardholders to have access to faster and better services from the state government.

According to the agency, the new LAG ID Card is a multi-application smartcard that offers registered residents access to services ranging from a means of personal security and identity verification at points of accessing various government services, applying for loans from Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to payment for services across multiple vendors including BRT and LagFerry as well as cash withdrawals from banks’ Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

LASRRA’s General Manager, Mrs. Ibilola Kasunmu, said: ‘’It is a smart card with multiple security features and applications.’’

She urged residents to kick off their registration on the LASRRA website and visit any nearest LASRRA Centre for biometrics capturing to complete their registration for the new LAG ID Card, also stressing that registration is absolutely free.

She also urged those that registered in 2018 or before 2018 and have changed their names and addresses, to update their data on the LASRRA website and complete the biometric verification for validation for issuance of the new card at the nearest LASSRA centre.
