A kidney disease patient from Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Mrs. Motunrayo Latifat Akintade, who needs N22 million for an urgent kidney transplant has appealed to government and public-spirited individuals and organisations to come to her aid.
Motunrayo, a trader, is currently on dialysis at the Lagoon Hospital, Lagos, while she has been transferred to St, Nicholas Hospital to carry out the surgery.
Narrating her ordeal to our Correspondent, Mrs. Motunrayo said life had become so burdensome and painful as a result of the sickness which had drained the family’s resources.
Findings by The Nation revealed that each dialysis session with other necessary drugs and occasional blood transfusion costs about N40,000 making a total of N120,000 per week.
The patient who spoke from her Sango Ota resident appealed to members of the public to come to her rescue, lamenting that her family is already exhausted.
