In welcoming the Nigeria High Commissioner, Ambassador Abayomi Olonisakin officially to Cameroon, eminent Nigerian, HRH EZE Thomas J Onyengubo, Eze Gburugburu 1 of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Cameroon, has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria High Commission in Douala, Cameroon.
Ambassador Olonisakin in his remarks said: “Let me on behalf of High Commission to welcome the royal majesty.
“I am really happy with good things you have done for Nigerians living in Cameroon, assisting them in their businesses, as well as generating funds to release some from prison as well as many things you have done on your own.
“I must really commend your effort for showing true patriotism of being a Nigeria, I am proud of you and your honours, I sincerely appreciate all these and I will also like to enjoyed you to continue to do that for the Nigeria community.
“On our part as Nigeria High Commission, our task here is to support you, we stand for you and to ensure you represent Nigeria appropriately”.
Responding, Onyengubo showered praises on the Nigeria High Commissioner going by his credentials, He said: “We are delighted to be here today to formally welcome the High Commissioner to Republic of Cameroon.
“We have no doubt considering your credentials, experience and background that President Muhammudu Buhari sees you as the best suited to take the position of Nigeria High Commission in Cameroon. Congratulations once again and welcome sir to the warm hospitality of Cameroon, we wish you all the best during your tour of duty in the country.”
Meanwhile, the Monarch also recently visited the new Nigeria Consul General of Buea, His Excellency Lawal Bappah.
Bappah in his remarks during the visit said: “I am really delighted to have Eze Gburugburu in my office, he’s a great man of honour, his selfless service in Cameroon has been noted and commendable.
“I am also delighted towards his good gestures in ensuring Nigerians in Cameroon live under the law of the host country. He’s a man with great heart. I am happy to meet you and I believe we will have much things to do for the benefit of every Nigerians in Cameroon.
“Our primary focus here is to look after the welfare of Nigerians and we shall continuing doing that to the best of our knowledge and that’s why eminent like Eze Gburugburu must be commended. We are here to support everybody”.
Onyengubo urged Nigerians in Cameroon to be law abiding and respect the law of the host country.
