Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have rescued eight persons from kidnappers in Benue State.
The rescued locals, abducted on their farms by herdsmen on Wednesday, were freed at the weekend.
In a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nathaniel Ikyur, yesterday, said the superior firepower of the soldiers overwhelmed the kidnappers who fled in disarray, leaving behind the kidnapped victims.
The victims have been reunited with their families.
