‘Nigeria needs responsible govt’

A presidential aspirant, Prof Christopher Imumolem, has said that Nigeria needs a responsible government who see leadership as service to the people not lording over the people.

Imumolem, an educationist, said the country has challenges with leadership because proper education is a major factor that makes a leader.

He said Nigeria deserves a new breed of leadership that can take it to where it ought to be.

“Education is as important as security and the food we eat. The education you give to your people will determine the kind of leaders and citizens you produce and your citizens must be produced in a way to solve your local problems,” he said.

On strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Imumolem said there has been a longing issue between ASUU and federal government not meeting up to their mandates since 2009.

He canvassed a stable economy to reduce crime.

“When you have a 24-hour electricity supply, you are working towards having a 24-hour stable economy and the security system must be worked on to reduce crime and cultism. When the resources meant for everybody are shared among the very few, the populace suffer for it,” he said.
