Two unidentified brothers of a widow, Mrs. Ogechukwu Thankgod, have drowned at a canal in Akiama community, Bonny Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The Chairperson of Bonny, Dame Anengi Barasua, was said to have led a delegation to commiserate with the family of the deceased.
The Deputy Press Secretary to the chairperson, Boma Waribor, confirmed the sad development in a statement at the weekend.

He said Barasua, who was represented by her Chief of Staff, Austin Onu Pepple, grieved over the incident that occurred on Saturday.
While promising to help the widow, Barasua called on community leaders Bonny to build fortifications around dangerous areas within their domains.
“The loss of two children by a widow in one day and in such horrendous manner is a painful experience and we pray that the bereaved mother, Mrs Ogechukwu ThankGod will find peace,” she said.
