A former Secretary to Ondo State Government, Hon Isaacs Kekemeke, has expressed optimism that the Southwest zone would respect the various offices zoned to each state ahead of the March 26 national convention of the All Progressives Congress.
Hon Kekemeke said the Southwest Governors worked in consultation with party leaders on how to party offices should be distributed amongst the component states of the region
Kekemeke who is vying for the office of National Vice-Chairman (Southwest) said the outcome of the meeting was in the best interest of the zone and the individual states.

He said he has the support of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to contest for the office of National Vice-Chairman (Southwest).
According to him, “This convention is quite challenging for the APC because of the many contending tendencies and interests. This is not unusual in any political party. I believe that our leaders and our Governors are up to the task.
“The bigger job is for the post-convention leadership to have the requisite capacity to fairly and sincerely rejig the party. The APC needs a competent, experienced, large-hearted, nonsectional and cool-headed somebody as Chairman.”
