Artiste manager and media personality Toks Asher Young has applauded Governor Soludo’s preference for locally-made goods as exemplary. Toks was reacting to the governor’s decision to only patronize made in Anambra/Nigeria products.
The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo in fulfillment of a promise he made during his campaign shortly after his inauguration unveiled Innoson vehicle as his official car.
Soludo had said, before his inauguration, that as part of his administration’s strategy to promote local brands, he would only use Innoson vehicles manufactured in Anambra State, as the state’s official vehicles.
The governor said, this is part of his administration’s master plan to open up the economy of Anambra state and Nigeria to the world.
Toks hailed the move by the Governor pointing out that the gains would be unprecedented. “I think this is a good first step by Governor Soludo and if this is a taste of what is to come, then Anambra state is on its way to better times. Imagine if other state governors adopt the same policy in their states? Nigerian manufacturers, the economy and the labour market will be the better for it,” Tochukwu added.
He went on to say that Soludo’s bold move is a dare to other Nigerian governors, especially those in the South-East encouraging them to do the same in their states and patronize only made in Nigeria products”.
Recall that back in February 2020 The House of Representatives rejected Innoson vehicles and instead opted for Toyota Camry 2020 model as their official cars.
