Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have cried out over what they called their outright exclusion from the party’s power-sharing arrangement.
They rejected the decision of the stakeholders from the Northeast to micro-zone the seat of the Deputy National Chairman to Borno State.
The APC chieftains, in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari; Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni; Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), Abubakar Bagudu, and other leaders and stakeholders of the party, said they were not part of the decision to cede the seat to Borno State.
The aggrieved party chieftains include former governors, former deputy governors, three serving senators, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, eight serving members of the House and 17 House of Assembly members.
The stalwarts argued that it was wrong for Borno State to be placed ahead of Bauchi, renowned as the traditional base of the APC in the Northeast.
They argued that Borno State has had more than enough government patronage under the Buhari administration than Bauchi State.
The leaders enjoined the APC leadership to have a rethink and treat Bauchi State in a fair and just manner.
