Olu of Warri receives Duke of Shomolu

HIGHLY revered monarch Ogiame  III recently received the team from ThAtuwatsee Duke of Shomolu Productions led by Evans Jakpa-Johns, co-executive producer of the highly anticipated play, Ogiame Erejuwa II.

The team which included the Executive Chairman Duke of Shomolu Productions, Joseph Edgar, also had Augustine Ebose Oseghae, Theo John Philips, amongst others in attendance.

Joseph Edgar, the Executive Chairman of The Duke of Shomolu Productions on his part informed the Ogiame that the play – Ogiame Erejuwa II was part of a series of historical plays deliberately designed to keep telling our stories in sweetly curated live theatre pieces with the sole aim of engaging ourselves and reminding us of our Rich ancestors.

He went on to say that such strong stories like Awo, Aremu, and Isale Eko amongst others have been staged all over the country including Lagos, Abeokuta, Benin and Uyo

Sardauna and Emir Sanusi are next in line with over 100,000 Nigerians expected to see these plays physically this year.

Ogiame Atuwatse III in his response thanked the team from The Duke of Shomolu Productions and expressed his delight at the prospect of having such a huge production in Iwara Land at this time.

He went on to state the importance of history in shaping the lives and destiny of a people pledging his support for the project and also confirming his attendance of the command performance.

Ogiame Erejuwa II is the 10th in a series of major theatrical expositions by the Duke of Shomolu Productions.
