Santos Sports Academy has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the Aderinokun Charity Cup in Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Santos defeated Daleko FC 1-0 in the final match that took place in NUD Primary School in Ifo
The competition hosted by an NGO Olumide and Stephanie Aderinokun Foundation, in collaboration with Ogun Central Senatorial District aspirant, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, kicked off the event with the seventh phase of #FreeFuelwithAderinokun, in which commercial motorcyclists are given free petrol.
It was followed by the commissioning of a borehole project in Itesiwaju Agosi Estate in the Ifo Local Government Area. The event had dignitaries including former Commissioner of Cooperatives and Community Development in Ogun State, Prince Lekan Tejuosho; former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs and ex-chairman of Ifo Local Government Area, Aare Tunde Alabi; Director-General, Ladi Adebutu Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Semiu Shodipo amongst others in attendance.
The event later moved to Ewekoro Local Government Area where supporters and the host community in Arigbajo rolled out the carpet for the commissioning of the second borehole project in Eegun Nla Estate.
The communities showed their gratitude to Olumide and Stephanie Aderinokun Foundation by showering prayers and praises as the borehole projects came with two water tanks each and a generator each to pump water when there is no power supply.
The competition was keenly contested by 24 teams before Santos Sports Academy claimed the title with a prize of N350,000 while Daleko FC went home with N250,000 as runners-up.
