The Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) has presented an award of excellence to the Director General/Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph N. Ari,  for his commitment to staff welfare and dedication to the improvement of working conditions of the ITF workforce.

Presenting the award during the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Union at Crispan Suites and Event Centre, Jos, the National President of the Union, Comrade Benjamin Anthony, also cited the training of thousands of Nigerians by the ITF under the leadership of Sir Ari as another reason he was considered for the award.

Reacting to the award received on his behalf by the Director of Administration and Human Resource Department, Mr. Tajudeen Ishola, the Director General expressed his gratitude to the union for finding him worthy of such recognition and dedicated the award to the hardworking staff of the ITF for aligning with the vision of the ITF management and working towards the realisation of the corporate goals of the ITF.

He pledged to continue to operate open-door policy and ensure vibrant unionism in the system, as according to him, an organisation that is unionised is more likely to achieve its corporate goals than one that is not.

He also assured that rather than rest on his oars, the award would spur him to work harder for the full actualisation of the ITF mandate for the good of all Nigerians.

Other recipients at the awards included the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong; Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Douye Diri; Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Aminu Bello Masari; Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum; MD/CEO Federal Housing Authority, Mohammed Bello-Koko and the DG, NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim.
