Yobe building collapse: Buni consoles victims’ families

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has commiserated with the families of victims of a collapsed mosque at Machina in Machina Local Government Area of the state.

Buni, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Gubana, described the incident as unfortunate and shocking while paying a condolence visit yesterday in Machina.

The mosque, which has been under construction for about four years collapsed on March 31, killing four people while 30 others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Praying for the repose of the soul of the departed, Buni expressed the government’s readiness to support the community towards the successful completion of the project.

Shiek Khalifa Fatihu said he initiated the project which was designed as a mosque and an Islamic centre, with the support from the people of the community in memory of his late father, Sheik Mohammad Gibirima.

Fatihu commended the Yobe State Government for its concern and empathy.
