Nine die, 29 injured in Kwara, Osun accidents

Nine persons died yesterday in road crashes in Kwara and Osun states.

Four of the dead were children.

Two of them and five others died yesterday in the Kwara incident with 21 persons injured, while two children were killed and eight injured in the Osun crash.

The Kwara accident occurred around 3am at Otte village in Asa local government area on the Ilorin-Ogbomoso Highway involving a commercial bus with registration number ZUR159XJ.

The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Jonathan Owoade said 28 persons were on board the commercial bus.

The Osun incident happened at Wasinmin junction via Sasa bridge and Iwaraja Junction at Omo Ijesha.

Spokesperson of FRSC in the state Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi said two vehicles were involved in the crash.
