The Misbaudeen Islamic Centre has urged Nigerians to unite with the government to end banditry and terrorism in the country.
Speaking during the centre’s 10th Pre-Ramadan lecture at Jubril Martins Memorial High School, Agege, Lagos, Prof. Ibrahim Uthman, condemned the various forms of ritual killings, war and uprising going on in the world including Boko Haram and banditry debacle.
He, therefore, called for love, peace and harmony.
Lagos State University (LASU) lecturer Dr Mustapha Bello who spoke on “Averting Catastrophic Wars: Islamic Precepts for Attainment of National and Global Peace,” stated that the world is ready for Islam if only Muslims are ready to lead and do what is right.
“Muslims once ruled the world when they were just and feared Allah. Muslim nations must unite and support one another. If we are not united, we cannot lead the world. Leaders should safeguard the interest of the weak in the society while Islamic organisations should stop internal wrangling,” Bello said.
Chief Host and Managing Director, Silver Feeds Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Musbaudeen Bolarinwa urged Muslims to seek for Allah’s forgiveness.
Alhaji Bolarinwa said the lectures were meant to address challenges in the society.
“The lecture is also meant to prepare Muslims towards having a perfect and acceptable fasting experience during Ramadan in line with the dictates of the Qur’an and Sunnah,” he said.
Dignitaries at the event include Prince Tajudeen Olusi; Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf; Alhaji Lawal Pedro SAN; Chief Imam of Badagry Alhaji AbdulHakeem Akewusola, Dr. Saheed Timehin; Chief Imam of Lagos Police College, DSP Muhammad Raji Muhammad Jamiu; Alhaji Taofeek Elebute and Alhaji AbdulAzeez AbdulLateef among others.
