Thousands of supporters of Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege have gathered at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) for his official declaration to contest the Delta gubernatorial seat in 2023.
Omo-Agege, who is a two-time Senator, will contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He hails from Orogun community in Ughelli North council area, Delta Central Senatorial district of the oil-rich state.
He is the chairman, Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Present at the ceremony are Senator Peter Nwaboshi (Delta North); member representing Udu, Ughelli North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Waive; former Edo APC governorship candidate Pastor Ize-Iyamu; Delta APC leader, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor; APC chieftain, Chief Frank Kokori and ex-APC chairman in Delta, Prophet Jones Erue.
Others are APC Delta Central senatorial aspirant, Chief Ede Dafinone; APC chairmen across the 25 LGAs, several APC support groups among others.
