On Aisha Babangida’s large heart

Aisha, one of the daughters of ex- Military president, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, is a woman with a large heart.

Her benevolence and philanthropic gestures are evident in her activities across the length and breadth of Nigeria.

Following her mum’s death in 2009, Aisha had taken over her non-governmental organisations with the most popular, Better Life Program for the African Rural Woman, taking the forefront.

Passionate about the women and girl child, Aisha has continued in the footsteps of her mother by taking over the Better Live program as well as founding the Women Enterprise Alliance. She has continued to get accolades and honours for her philanthropic and developmental works.

Another attribute of Aisha is her love for her family. Those close to Aisha would readily tell you that she doesn’t joke with members of her family. Her support for her family members when in trouble or being castigated publicly is said to be noteworthy.

A close associate of Aisha was quick to tell the story of how she stood firm by her aunt, Justice Mary Odili, the Second Senior Jurist of the Apex Court, during the trial by some security operatives that stormed her home. It was said that Aisha continued to remind her aunt and her cousins that the Babangida family remain firmly behind them as they would all weather the storm.
