Stakeholders urge Okowa to join presidential race

A GROUP, Citizens Alliance Project (CAP), has called on Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to step up for a national assignment and be part of the team to rescue Nigeria in 2023.

Its Chairman,  Shedrack Agediga said their membership cut across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.

Agediga accompanied by his Director of Mobilisation, Obinna Nwoke, and Coordinator (North) Alhaji Muktar Usman, noted that the governor had provided credible service to the people with his SMART Agenda, which is a clear policy direction of a focused and people oriented government.

“The strategic implementation of the policy has seen a rise in youth capacity building engagement for self reliance, direct employment in the civil service, rural and urban renewal and stakeholders engagement for peace and inclusiveness.

“The beginning of the first and even second term of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as governor  was greeted with: Drop in crude oil prices that affected state allocation from federal account; Avengers’ hostilities on oil and gas facilities that reduced the stake of the state at FAAC; and COVID-19 global pandemic.

“With all the challenges, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa continued to pursue all round development with uncompromising vision and charismatic leadership. His government set out to create wealth through employment, knowing full well that unemployment can only be tackled through deliberate effort to stimulate and create opportunities both short term and long term strategy…

“With such rich experience in people oriented leadership provision and the state of the Nigeria today, we call Okowa to step up for a national assignment and be part of the team that will rescue Nigeria in 2023.”
